Position Description

This position is responsible for post award administration, compliance and fiscal management of grants and contracts awarded from federal, state, and local government and private funding agencies. Applies specialized knowledge and interprets rules, regulations procedures and policies from funding agencies and combines those with university policies. Must have excellent customer service skills as well as independent judgement and discretion in the management of grants and contracts working with project director, funding agency personnel and University and faculty personnel. Examples of duties include reviewing, interpreting funding documents and campus policies and procedures; researching, interpreting and applying appropriate funding agency regulations and federal regulations as required by each award; maintaining contact with funding agencies regarding fiscal and reporting requirements; informing and working with project personnel to ensure regulatory compliance, including the fiscal management of grants/contracts; reviewing, analyzing and preparing reports; maintain documentation for audits; review and approve disbursements to ensure conformity with funding agency and University policies and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a small portfolio of sponsored projects and assist in the closeout of all sponsored projects that have been expired for more than 6 months.
  • Facilitate the processing, accuracy, and timeliness of Sponsored Program A/R matter, including grant set-up, billing, collections and payment application.
  • Analyze grant billing and collections, revenue and expense recognition, data integrity of grant transactions for fiscal reporting/compliance.
  • Prepare fiscal reports to sponsoring agency in an accurate and timely manner; perform revenue and expenditure analyses, closeouts of assigned grants and other fiscal reporting duties.
  • Facilitate the processing, accuracy, and timeliness of Sponsored Program A/R matter, including grant set-up, billing, collections, and payment application.
  • Provide customer service with respect to grant operations and compliance.  Provide requested grant related information and reports to internal/external entities as well as providing requested information to State, Federal, and other outside agencies in an accurate and timely manner.
