Accounting Director Jobs description
An accounting director job is a senior management position responsible for providing leadership to the accounts division of an enterprise. An accounting director provides strategic accounting advice to the management, incorporating change in processes for the accounting division when required. Responsibilities include ensuring that employees in the division deliver their best by error-free accounting and recording of journal ledgers, and other financial information like accounts payable, balance sheets, annual reports, and accounts receivable. Accounting directors are generally supported by accounting assistants or accounting clerks.An accounting director job requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, a CPA/CMA or a relevant accounting qualification. Five or more years of progressively responsible experience managing a team of accounting professionals is also required. Experience working as accounting manager, senior accounting manager, finance director or accounts director for several years is an advantage. Success in clinching this position may act as the last step towards reaching c-level in an organization.
