Description

The Internal Audit Associate Director is part of the senior leadership team within Internal Audit Consulting Group (IACG) and supports the strategic initiatives of the department and the management of audits to address enterprise risks. The Associate Director will assess enterprise risks and develop, plan and execute internal audits to address those risks. This role requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across departments and segments. The Internal Audit Associate Director works within general guidelines and applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems for the enterprise.

Responsibilities

The Internal Audit Associate Director determines proper compliance with the organization's policies, procedures and standards. Prepares reports for managements on results of audits and provides recommendations on improvements. Decisions are typically related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems. The Internal Audit Associate Director leads a team of highly specialized professionals while influencing goals and development of overall segment team. The position will be part of an integrated team that believes that collaboration, agility, resourcefulness and attention to detail are keys to success.

Detailed role responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Execute audit and operational decisions across department
Make decisions on audit strategy
Effectively leads the design, development, and implementation of strategic initiatives
Mentors and guides the segment teams on execution of audit program
Assessing overall audit plan quarterly in response to changes in risk landscape
Identify key department changes and drive implementation of those changes
Drive quality modifications to methodology
Cross collaboration among teams, specifically ensuring integration of IT and Data Analytics within audits and overseeing any cross functional audits
Creates a team environment that encourages innovative ideas based on a strong understanding of or experience with the client, segment, Humana, and IACG
Development and coaching of less experienced/highly specialized professionals to create a better understanding and consistent application of audit methodology and management strategies
Enterprise perspective and integration of audit with other parts of the business
Demonstrates a high level of client interaction and networking to develop their personal brand and establish IACG as a trusted partner to address complex issues
Advanced communication skills in presenting to management, specifically at the VP and SVP level through verbal and written reporting to effectively interact with various levels of management
In depth understanding of audit methodology and application to Humana processes at an Enterprise level
Collaborate and align assurance with other risk management functions within Humana
Provide recommendations to drive change and follow-up to ensure plans for audits and department are timely and sufficiently implemented


Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree
6 or more years of audit or consulting experience
2 or more years of management experience
Successful track record in facilitating and consulting across teams and managing projects
Likes to focus on the big picture and thrives in a fast paced, multi-project work environment
Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Aptitude for establishing working relationships with associates within the department and the business
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


Advanced certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CISSP, PMP, CFE
Advanced degree preferred
Data Analytics / Business Intelligence experience a plus. Prior experience with data analytics tools, including but not limited to, PowerBI, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, R & Python
Six Sigma Black Belt, Process Improvement and/or Quality Control expertise
