The Automation Methods and Optimization team is a start-up team at Tyson Foods that is responsible for identifying automation and process improvement opportunities, performing financial modeling, driving the automation roadmap, and executing automation projects. We will also define and facilitate a governance model to ensure we leverage Tyson's full scale as a Fortune 100 company as we engage external partners and suppliers, simplify our automation solution catalog, and help streamline supportability and solution maintenance.

We will use data as the foundation for our strategy and decision-making and we want to ensure we are investing in the opportunities that drive the greatest returns for Tyson. The Sr. Data and Finance analyst will play a crucial role in our team in that they will lead our data analysis and financial modeling efforts for driving investment decisions. They will also drive data analysis which will be an input into the creation of standards around vendors, equipment, support contracts, etc. Candidates should have a love for working with large volumes of data, solid experience with data ingestion, modeling, visualization platforms, and at least basic knowledge of advanced analytics (e.g. predictive/prescriptive).

Responsibilities

Define, implement, manage processes and standards for modeling regarding plant process optimization and automation implementation

Partner with business operations, engineering, and IT to gather data for automation opportunities, glean insights from the data and make recommendations based on financial impact and scale.

Create dashboards for repeatable use for data and financial analysis, tracking, and presentation

Partner with Tyson Finance, IT, Engineering, and HR to ensure our assumptions for financial analysis are up-to-date and reflecting reality (e.g. cost of labor, lifespans of equipment, support and maintenance, etc.)

Analyze data for insights, trends, and opportunities

Organize, model, and analyze large volumes of data making use of data visualization software, gleaning insights, and making recommendations

Operate with rigorous process discipline and documentation practices

This position may require up to 25% of travel

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related fields with an emphasis on data analysis

Experience: 2-4 years experience in roles steeped in data analysis and financial modeling

Demonstrated success in roles requiring strong analytical and systems skills

Experience in financial modeling of technology solutions for investment decisions (e.g. labor efficiency gains, through-put/volume gains, etc.)

Understanding of industrial robotics and artificial intelligence and their application in a production environment is a plus

Strong data analysis skills including experience with successfully working with large data sets

Proficient in the use of data visualization platforms such as Power BI and Data Studio and expertise in spreadsheet software

Proficient in the use of process mapping software and tools (mind-mapping tools, Visio, etc.)

Advanced problem solving skills with the ability to operate within complex situations, break them down, and work with others to define the path forward

Ability to clearly “tell the story” and tailor your messaging to partners, leadership, and stakeholders

Understanding of interdependencies between technology, operations, and engineering
