Georgia-Pacific signs contract with ACS
Georgia-Pacific, LLC, has signed a seven-year contract with Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., (ACS) a provider of finance and accounting services. Under the terms of the agreement, ACS will offer an array of finance and accounting solutions relating to travel-expense management, payroll taxes, accounts payable services, cash applications, and accounting services. Financial details of the agreement remain undisclosed. Georgia-Pacific is one of the world’s top producers and marketers of tissue, pulp, paper, packaging, and building products. ACS supports client operations and provides business-process outsourcing and information technology solutions to top-notch commercial and government clients in more than 100 countries.
A high-tech financial management system designed to serve the U.S. Air Force and Transportation Command has been launched successfully. The Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS) Increment 1, Spiral 1, is based at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. Members of the 554th Electronic Systems Group stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio devised DEAMS. DEAMS will provide automated audit trails to the U.S. Transportation Command, significantly reduce processing time, and track financial transactions.
Richard E. Kurtenbach joins Rancher Energy as CAO
Richard E. Kurtenbach has joined Rancher Energy Corp. as chief accounting officer (CAO). Kurtenbach replaces Daniel Foley, who is stepping down from his role as chief financial officer on August 31. Kurtenbach has had more than 25 years' experience in domestic and international oil and gas operations. He is also experienced in SEC reporting, budgeting, asset acquisition and divestiture, strategic planning, financial reporting, and international operations. Previously, Kurtenbach served Galaxy Energy Corporation as vice president of administration and controller. At Galaxy, he handled accounting and administrative functions, prepared financial statements for SEC filings, and managed domestic and international drilling programs as well as financial modeling and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance matters.
