As a valuable member of Hoag's Accounting team, you'll ensure accurate financial assessments by utilizing your knowledge of GAAP principles and OSHPD guidelines to review and interpret financial data. Being a Hoag Accounting Analyst means supporting a healthcare organization dedicated to serving our community by offering the highest level of care to those who depend on us.
OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
*Managing cash reconciliation and posting process. *Acting as the key contact in the central cash department. *Preparing bank deposits for cash and checks forwarded to the central cash department. *Acting as the central clearinghouse in directing patient account receivable remittances to the appropriate business office/billing service. *Coordinating with decentralized accounting teams to ensure accurate accounting for patient revenue and accounts receivable. *Analyzing data and developing processes to identify, sort, and organize payment and remittance information to accurately account for cash receipts. *Working with payors, banks, and internal leaders to research unassigned payment to post all receipts in a timely fashion. *Preparing interim and year end audit schedules in a timely manner and ensuring the accuracy of the information provided. *Preparing and/or assisting in preparing monthly patient accounts receivable journal entries (revenue, cash, adjustments). *Preparing a monthly account analysis in a consistent and timely manner for general ledger accounts assigned. *Prepares journal entries, with supporting documentation for Clinic Entities, in a timely manner allowing sufficient time for review. *Maintaining audit trail/records supporting all journal entries in a reasonable and accessible manner. *Assisting in completing schedules for the 990 returns. *Assisting in the preparation/coordination of quarterly and annual tax payments for Hoag Clinic entities. *Reconciling schedules to general ledger and verifying clerical accuracy. *Cross-training peers on job responsibilities so that tasks are completed in the employee's absence and actively participating in the cross-training of peers' responsibilities. *Demonstrating a willingness to learn new procedures, readily accepts new responsibilities, participates as a team player and contributes to the overall success of the department.

*Bachelor's Degree *Minimum of 5 years' experience in general accounting. *Possess superb interpersonal communication skills, organization ability, attention to detail; able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and able to work in a team environment. *Working knowledge of general ledger system. *Proficient using Microsoft Office products, including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
*Bachelor's degree in Accounting. *Experience in hospital/healthcare accounting.
