The Finance Business Partner (FBP) organization sits within Deloitte's Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. FBPs are organizational catalysts who provide financial analysis to Deloitte's businesses and enabling area channels to enhance their decision-making and financial management. They are also strategists who develop, evaluate, and execute financial strategies.
The Enabling Area (EA) FBP will report to the leader of the Finance Business Partner organization.
It is envisioned to be a level 1 MD role; however, we will consider a Senior Manager who develops into the role over time.
Job Responsibilities
Organizational Vision and Culture
Bring an outside-in view on world-class FP&A practices
Set direction and strategy for the EA FBP team based on Firm operational priorities
Lead Long Term Strategic and Financial planning across the EA channels
Create a culture of organizational agility by anticipating risks and opportunities and creating mitigation and action plans to proactively address them
Partner with both FP&A and Firm leadership in driving Finance Transformation and supporting other transformational initiatives
Measure and report on KPIs and project performance (e.g., E:R ratio, Project Beckham initiatives)
Consistently produce analytics and insights that drive operational initiatives
Coordinate with Corporate Development on acquisitions and divestitures
Relationship-Building
Serve as a trusted advisor to EA and Firm leaders by steering FBP team to innovate and deliver critical insights, enabling them to execute on strategic and financial objectives
Drive increased collaboration across FP&A, Controllership, EFA, Strategic Analytics, GFS and other groups within the Finance organization to ensure a seamless execution of FP&A activities
Forge partnerships with FBP teams across all businesses to leverage their expertise, and cross-collaborate when needed to enable EA FBPs to optimally deliver their services
Talent and Operations
Collaborate with the leader of the FBP organization and Finance Talent teams to develop the capabilities of the future by executing the Talent strategy to activate needed skills within the EA FBP group resulting from the evolving nature of how work is done (human vs. machine) and work outcomes (e.g., reporting vs. insights)
Provide regular and actionable mentoring, feedback and professional development opportunities to direct reports
Partner with the leader of the FBP organization and lead FBPs for businesses and EAs to identify and deploy new technologies to enable FBPs to produce timely, relevant, and actionable financial narratives and insights
Continuously improve EA FBP organizational efficiency and effectiveness by leveraging best practices from other FBP teams and sharing improvements identified by the EA FBP team to other businesses
Collaborate with US and GFS COEs to identify and deploy leading practices to drive operational efficiency and consistency
Lead the annual planning and periodic forecasting process; ensuring strategic priorities and guidelines are being adhered to
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related subject
CPA or MBA preferred
Experience Requirements
10 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in a professional services firm
5 years leading and managing people in Financial Reporting and Analysis
Demonstrated Accomplishments in the Following Areas:
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Managing virtual teams
Change management
Providing thought leadership
Overseeing high profile strategic initiatives
Technology or other Requirements
Understanding of SAP and other financial applications
Advanced in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $126,535 to $233,030.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
