Senior Benefits and Payroll Specialist?

The Senior Benefits and Payroll Specialist will be

responsible for the administration

of all

employee health and welfare benefits. This role will

also provide payroll support in implementing process improvement as well as special projects to streamline workflow and scalability. This important team member will be the primary backup to the Payroll Specialist in their absence.

Essential Job Functions:

Manage the administration of

all employee benefits including health, life, disability and employee assistance programs, ensuring all programs will be carried out in accordance with company's policies and procedures.

Partner with insurance carrier to manage FMLA/disability leaves of absence.

Help resolve health insurance inquiries related to claims, deductions and enrollment changes.

Complete new hire benefits review and enrollments.

Administer health savings accounts, including employee and employer contribution processing.

Manage relationships with vendors and carriers to ensure high level of customer service to employees.

Work closely with our broker on related health and welfare activities.

Participate in the reviewing, preparing and presenting of open enrollment materials for new plans and changes to plans.

Review and distribute benefit documentation including updated health contracts, summary plan descriptions, and other mandated compliance notices.

Ensures compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA provisions, and files required State and Federal reports.

Drive employee wellness initiatives.

Support the needs of the Payroll Department as it relates to weekly payroll processing, report generation, HRIS system updates, and audit preparation.


Bachelor’s Degree with

3-5 years of combined benefits and/or payroll experience in a fast paced, high volume, multi-entity organization.

Must be able to prioritize and manage complex projects within deadlines and with extreme attention to detail.

Strong customer service, written and verbal communication skills; appropriately communicates with all levels of customers within the organization.

Excellent problem solving skills, analytical mindset with good judgement and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Advanced skills in MS Excel.

Canadian benefits/payroll experience a plus.
