Profile

Position Summary:

The Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for providing critical support and leadership in implementing key planning and analysis tools to aid business growth, decision-making and achievement of financial commitments across all Business Units. The Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is responsible for preparing and analyzing relevant financial, performance and comparative industry and company data, as well as business presentations to the Chief Executive Officer, executive management team and other key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

Oversee and manage the continued development of budgeting, financial forecasting, operating plans and modeling tools

Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses and capital expenditures

Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance

Prepare quarterly and monthly financial reports compared to budget and forecast

Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives

Provide Business Unit leaders with financial analysis to drive decision making including project costing, profitability, productivity analysis, and return on investment.

Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes

Support Business Unit leaders with in-depth analysis to communicate key business trends and highlight key opportunities for growth and operational improvements

Work closely with other financial functions and investor relations to analyze performance and construct external messaging

Work closely with finance teams to prepare regular budgets for programs and work plans underlying key collaboration agreements and regular budget-to-actual reporting

Participate in special projects, including business development opportunities and cross-finance improvement initiatives

Required Skills

Must have 8-10 years relevant experience and progressive growth in financial roles

Must have knowledge of mathematical calculations

Must have advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel

Must have experience setting up new accounting processes

Must have the ability to research and resolve technical issues

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to interact with all levels of management, employees and clients

Must have strong organizational skills to maintain appropriate files, and reports

Must have the flexibility to handle multiple projects and problems simultaneously

Must have the ability to make judgments concerning the interpretation of policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field and eight (8) years of experience in financial accounting systems (i.e., general ledger, fixed assets, sales tax reporting) is required.

Must have experience in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to Word and Excel.

CPA and MBA is preferred.

Working Conditions:

Ability to travel by vehicle and air, including overnight stays, to job sites and other locations as needed.

Works with minimal supervision.

Requires attention to detail. Requires using discretion and maintains confidentiality concerning information regarding employees, clients, customers, vendors, and other company business.
