Basic Function

The Corporate Accounting – Financial Instruments & Hedge Accounting team is responsible for overseeing the guidance research of US GAAP and IFRS, accounting, close process, policy development and maintenance, and financial reporting for financial instruments and hedge accounting applications, including foreign currency. The complex nature of the transactions, and resultant accounting and reporting impacts, require significant financial analysis, understanding of complex financial instruments and hedge accounting, and managing various departmental impacts of the development and operation of hedge accounting programs while addressing the needs and expectations of senior management. This role will require execution of routine accounting and close process procedures, researching related accounting issues, documenting hedge accounting programs, and assisting in the preparation of communications to senior management and coordinating with various departments utilizing hedge accounting applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsible for preparing and completing month, quarter, and annual accounting entries specific to our scope, including completing related reconciliations

Complete quarter and annual financial reporting packages for key areas assigned

Perform SOX controls and maintain evidence of control for areas of responsibility

Financial analysis on accounts as required

Initiate, gather support and draft for hedge accounting documentation

Provide significant input into communications to senior management

Participate in development of hedge accounting programs, assisting in coordination with various departments

Complete balance sheet analysis for areas within scope

Assist and provide draft conclusions as accounting research matters arise for both US GAAP and IFRS within scope

Assist in preparation and supporting audits of various statutory financial statements, where applicable

Seek continued development of knowledge of financial instruments and hedge accounting applications

Collaborate and communicate effectively with various departments throughout the organization including serving on key projects when necessary

Complete monthly foreign currency analysis, analyzing trends and entity structure impacts

Min. Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or similar, required

Minimum of 4 years accounting experience

Experience with SAP and HFM, or similar ERP / accounting systems are required

Advanced skills in Excel and working skill in Word required

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

CPA preferred

Flexibility to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines

Excel in oral and written communication

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written are essential

Well organized and able to prioritize, adjusting focus as needed

Ability to work extended hours during various times of the month/year
