Texell Credit Union, a profitable and fast-growing community credit union in Central Texas, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional. Texell is a fast-paced credit union with an uncompromising approach to excellent member service, and an aggressive strategic plan. Texell seeks an energetic self-starter with strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation and analysis, financial controls, process improvement and leadership. THE BASICS OF THE POSITION:

  • Oversees finance, accounting and payment systems functions and professional staff.
  • Prepares and/or reviews financial statements.
  • Prepares quarterly call reports and other regulatory filings.
  • Directs disbursements and expenditures for accounts payable and capital purchases.
  • Works with auditors/examiners on year-end audit, internal audits, and periodic examinations.
  • Provides safekeeping, control and accounting for assets and securities.
  • Reviews operational procedures to obtain optimum efficiency and reduced costs.
  • Develops strong new business relationships with vendors and maintains relationships with various existing vendors.
  • Serves on the Asset/Liability Management Committee.
  • Helps manage purchased participation loan pools.

  • [REQUIRED] Has 5 - 10 years of progressive accounting management experience, including the supervision of others.
  • [REQUIRED] Has a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. Experience in banking is a big plus.
