Profile
The Vice President of Corporate Tax is responsible for all strategic tax planning and tax structuring for the company, ensuring compliance with all international, federal, state and local tax regulations, evaluating the impact of new and proposed tax legislation, managing external audits and issue resolution and advancing automation in tax processes.
Responsible for all strategic tax planning to reduce cash taxes and drive the lowest effective tax rates for the company.
Oversees the international, federal and state tax compliance processes to ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns.
Evaluates new and proposed tax legislation/guidance, analyzes impact on the company and communicates effectively to senior leadership.
Responsible for all tax audits, analyzes issues identified, develops the Company’s positions and negotiates audit settlements with taxing authorities.
Evaluates tax treatment of potential acquisitions, dispositions, and other significant transactions and recommends organizational tax structuring.
Advances tax technology and process automation within tax processes.
Presents and communicates effectively to senior leadership and the Board, including planning opportunities.
Oversees the maintenance and documentation of the tax provision and compliance processes in coordination with internal audit to ensure SOX control compliance.
Responsible for internal/external reporting and financial statement tax disclosures.
Engages third party tax consultants and auditors and serves as the key business relationship contact.
Oversees property tax assessments, audits, protests and payments.
Oversees IRS tip compliance negotiations and reporting process.
Responsible for the management, recruitment, and development of an efficient and effective tax team.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA required. MBA preferred.
Fifteen (15) years of tax related experience in a public company and/or Big 4 public accounting firm required.
Strong understanding of: ASC 740, Income Taxes; FIN 48, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes; and SOX 404 process controls.
Proven ability to interact with international, federal and state auditors and manage the audit process.
Strong technical understanding of international, federal and state corporate and partnership tax statutes and regulations.
Strong understanding of GAAP accounting in the context of a public company.
Demonstrates strong analytical, project management and strategic planning skills.
Self-directed with excellent initiative and a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency
Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers, staff, and outside consultants.
Possess strong technology skills.
Active CPA License.
May include jurisdictional gaming licenses.
