We are looking for a Senior Business Partner that brings Corporate Finance experience and an entrepreneurial aptitude to accelerate decision making and management of the Transportation business for zulily. The individual will work closely with the Operations Leadership team as well as other leaders within the organization to develop financial forecasts, models, and other analyses to support the business in Fulfillment and Transportation. Working in Corporate Business Planning & Analysis and reporting to the Sr. Manager of BP&A, the Senior Business Partner will use analytical principles, statistics, and technology to develop scenario based financial projections in the Transportation space. These projections will be used in annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and monthly updates for both internal planning & analysis and external reporting. Organization, detail-orientation, and communication are critical to the success of this role.


Lead departmental development and execution of annual and long-term financial plans as well as interim forecasts and “what if” scenarios, focusing on the underlying business drivers, key financial and operating metrics, and relative sensitivity analysis

Partner with business leaders to develop action plans, procedures, and solutions as appropriate

Ensure modeling tools and techniques incorporate versatility to support quick turnaround and multiple growth scenarios

Assess actual results and trends relative to forecast to ensure a thorough understanding of the variance drivers

Develop ad hoc business analysis and present recommendations to senior leadership

Collaborate with Finance to ensure financial and operational targets are communicated accurately and consistently across operational departments

Create and manage financial modeling tools and techniques to support business growth, including effectively translating business requirements into ongoing metrics, models, and staffing plans

Analyze and communicate monthly metrics and financial results compared with budget/forecast to identify areas for efficiencies, cost reduction, and other opportunities

Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial results

Serve as financial subject matter expert in regards to operational decision making

Collaborate with technical and business intelligence teams to develop consistent and accurate reporting


Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other technical discipline required

5-7 years of broad-based, progressive financial analysis and planning experience

Financial modeling and analysis techniques including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Ability to work with senior business partners in a fast moving business

Highly analytical, exceptional attention to detail, and strong business sense with an ability to balance multiple projects & processes simultaneously

Collaborative and customer-service work style that is results driven

Highly effective communication and presentation skills with track record of presenting complex financial analyses to executives and senior leadership

Proven success in roles with heavy analytical focus on operations and financial rigor

Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer focus and professional demeanor

Experience in fast-paced, rapidly growing environments

Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload

A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations



Operations / Supply Chain background

Understanding of SQL, BigQuery, and Tableau
