Sr Manager, Finance','191732','','Cox Automotive','!*!This role is available at one of the following Manheim locations:MinneapolisNorthstarOmahaJob Scope: The Senior Manager, Finance is a critical leadership position that oversees the execution of all Finance functions to support the assigned auction locations.  This position reports directly to the Regional Controller and serves as a partner to the Auction General Managers and leadership team to anticipate business issues and drive strong decision making through sound financial management and application of Finance and Accounting expertise. The Sr. Manager is responsible for the finance operations of the auctions encompassing financial transaction processing, financial close, compliance with accounting policy, procedures and ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls. The Sr. Manager is the liaison between the Auction and Region/Corporate management.   This position will be responsible for Finance for up to five auction locations.  A focus on continuous improvement including the enhancement of Finance and Accounting processes and procedures is essential to success in this position. This includes partnering across the broader finance organization and with key business stakeholders to optimize upstream and downstream processes and integrate improvements into operating plans and goals.  Ongoing individual development within the finance organization is another critical success factor including the ability to transform and adapt the organization to the Company’s shifting business model and strategies.Key Responsibilities: Finance Operations:Lead a Finance & Accounting team with a staff of both Senior and Staff levels. This may include other auction personnel, such as Posting & Procurement.   Prepare and review monthly financial statements to present to General Manager, Auction management team, and Region leadership. Lead the monthly financial close process which includes the preparation of necessary journal entries and perform the required variance analysis.  Ensure accuracy and timelines with adherence to the 3 day month-end deadline.Enable the transition of the monthly financial close process and reconciliations to the Accounting Centers of Excellence through strong collaboration and joint problem solving. Review key Auction financial metrics related to critical finance transaction processes to ensure payments and charges are processed timely and kept current.Own the analysis and management of key performance indicators for the Auction and proactively partner with Auction Management to fully understand and achieve targets as well as improve performance as appropriate.Analyze and report Financial Results and partner with Auction Management, Region leadership, and Corporate personnel to improve operating results.Assist in the preparation, review, and presentation of monthly & quarterly Forecasts, annual Budgets, and long term financial plans. Provide mentoring for all functional managers to promote an increase in financial acumen and the impact on auction results.Work with other department managers to ensure all internal controls are adhered to and financial statements are fairly and accurately presented.Provide timely response and assistance to audit and/or compliance requests on an on-going basis. Leadership & DevelopmentBuild and enhance a strong team that provides proactive support and results-driven execution of responsibilities to meet the current and future needs of the business.Remain current on best practices and trends relevant to finance and related technologies.Identify, lead and participate in projects to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Auction’s functions and processes.Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at operating locations, and key corporate stakeholders, ensuring that they understand and value the services provided by the Finance team and respond to feedback regarding opportunities for improvement.Partner with key stakeholders across Cox Automotive to ensure appropriate service levels are being provided.Manage and coach employees to increase engagement and strengthen professional development.  Continually strive to develop talent within the Finance & Accounting organization to promote individual development and career growth.Responsible for preparing and managing to budget objectives.Perform related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

','','','!*!Education & Specialized Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.MBA and/or CPA preferred.Strong leadership, communication, and interaction skills required.Travel required, 25%-50% dependent on number of hub locationsEffective and competent management, accounting, and organizational skills required.Excellent computer and software knowledge essential, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  Oracle, Hyperion, Blackline and AS400 knowledge preferred.Knowledge of Finance, Accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.Demonstrated strength in performing ad hoc analysis and short and long-term budgeting and forecasting.Strong time management skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.Willingness to work a flexible schedule.Experience: 7 years of Accounting/Finance experience in positions with increasing responsibilities required.Ability to effectively lead change.Strong knowledge of Finance & Accounting operations.Experience in the automobile or Auction industry desirable.Ability to understand business strategy and translate into effective tactical plans.
