SUMMARY:Performing installation, startup and closeout of all jobs, assisting Division Managers in design, and other tasks as assigned by the Division Managers. Lead Technicians usually handle large complex systems over multiple locations or supervise installation technicians on multiple projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. To perform this job successfully, the Lead Install Technician may be expected to perform some or all of the duties listed, and other duties as assigned.

Install and pull wire as per specifications or as directed with no supervision

Installs systems per the scope of work, drawings and schematics with no supervision

Work with fiber optic cable and equipment, including terminations

Work with computer Ethernet cabling maintaining Cat5, Cat5e and Cat6 standards including cable termination using the T-568B standard

Assist with design networks for IP based systems.

Program systems utilizing computers and system controllers remotely and onsite

Read drawings, blue print, schematics and install wire and equipment according to the documentation with minimal supervision

Keeps all work areas clean

Tests all equipment after termination is made to ensure performance of system

Manage large complex projects without supervision

Maintain company assets

Maintain and operate a company vehicle

Oversee all other Technician levels to insure that work is being completed accurately and timely. Assist in training and mentoring of Level 1, 2, 3 and Installation Technicians

Train customers on proper system operation

Participate in Integration Logistic training program.

All work is performed to Company standards and quality installation techniques are practiced. Work in compliance Meet all OSHA or other safety directives as indicated by Integration Logistics and Integration Logistics customers with the Company’s safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times.

Turning in all paperwork on time and filled out completely (example: work orders, job change orders, vehicle log, time cards, Field Service Reports etc.)Timecards are accurate, filled out completely with ESC job numbers, hours are correct; time card is signed and turned in every Monday by 10:00 am to Operations Manager

Maintain a daily logbook, which is kept up to date with customer requests, worked performed each day, ESC job numbers, training received. (Pending creation)

Daily communication with Project Manager on daily progress reports, delays, requirements and general status of jobs

All tasks are completed in a timely manner

Run job meetings (pre, daily and post)

Inspect job equipment lists to assist with ordering

Work with Systems Engineers on startup to ensure complete system compliance

Work with Project Manager to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client and service department. Complete shop drawing and as-built drawings as required.

Works with Project Manager to oversee the installation of multiple crews to ensure jobs are on track and within the estimate. All jobs are run within each phase’s estimate (example: wire pull, mounting, etc.)

Assist Service Dept. in handling over flow service calls and emergency situations

Participate in Integration Logistics after hour’s service On-call rotation

Overnight stays to assist other division in the installation and service of systems


Supervise work crews on their projects. Provide on the job training and guidance for Installation, level 1, 2, 3 and Installation Technicians.

Understand Access Control operation including but not limited to:

Card readers and formats


Badge systems

Lock selection and installation

Power Supplies

Cable selections and limitations

Request to exit devices



Entry system

Data communication formats

Understand Security System operations including but not limited to:

Control panel installation

Control devices (Keypads)

Motion sensor operations and placement

Glass break detection selection and placement

Power Supplies

System programming from keypads

Central station operation and report code formats

False alarm reduction procedures

Understand Fire Detection System operation including but not limited to:

Control panel installation

Control devices (Keypads)

Smoke detector selection and placement

Heat detector selection and placement

Power Supplies

Notification appliances

Federal, State and local codes

Inspection procedures

Manual pull station placements

Cabling requirements and codes


Strong customer service skills and results orientation.

Have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and dividing whole numbers, fractions and decimal places)

8 years’ experience installing or servicing at least 4 of the following skill sets:

o Security systems

o Fire detection systems

o Access Control systems

o CCTV (Closed Circuit Television)

o Electronics experience

o Equivalent Military experience

o Structured Cabling


Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities without supervision.

Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.

Ability to maintain composure, keep emotions in check and avoid aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations.

Experience with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Windows, Word, Excel

Completed Nicet Certification level 2 in Video or Fire

Competed AMAG certification or other approved access control certifications

Completed DMP alarm certification, or obtain certification

Completed Panasonic Ipro certification, or obtain certification

Completed Alarm technician certification from NAAA or Equivalent

Completed CompTIA A certification

Completed CompTIA Network or Cisco CCNET certification
